Consignment Sales

If you would prefer not to list and sell your duty paid (loose home stored) bottles yourself, you are welcome to send them to Squelch to sell on your behalf from our licensed premises.

For consignment sales, Squelch offers the following additional services:

  • Photographing your bottle(s)
  • Creating the content for the listing
  • Liaising with you over setting the price
  • Managing the listing
  • Organising and managing delivery to your buyer

For our consignment service, Squelch’s commission is 10% + VAT.

Kindly note that this will slightly change the rules of engagement with your buyer, as they will be purchasing from a business (Squelch) rather than a private individual. This gives them greater rights to cancel or return under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.

Squelch will release your funds to you upon confirmation from the buyer that they have received their wine and are happy with it, or at the conclusion of the distance selling cooling-off period (currently 14 calendar days from the day after delivery), whichever comes first.

You retain ownership of your wine until it is sold, but for legal and regulatory purposes, Squelch is the acting seller and responsible for compliance with consumer protection laws.

Consignment sales are subject to the additional Terms and Conditions set out in our Consignment Sales Addendum.

Please contact us here consignment@squelch.wine with details of the wine(s) you wish to consign.

Please note: you remain responsible for ensuring safe delivery of your wine to us unless shipping is arranged by Squelch. We can assist with collection or provide packing guidance if needed.
