Rauzan-Segla

Château Rauzan-Ségla, a historic estate in the prestigious Margaux appellation, has long been regarded as one of Bordeaux’s finest producers. Founded in the 17th century, it gained recognition as a 2ème Cru Classé in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, solidifying its reputation as a benchmark for quality. Today, the estate spans approximately 50 hectares of prime vineyard land in the heart of Margaux, where the terroir is marked by gravel soils ideal for growing Bordeaux's classic varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The estate has undergone significant rejuvenation since being acquired by the Chanel Group in 1994. With their commitment to excellence, the estate has embraced modern winemaking techniques while remaining true to the traditional methods that made Rauzan-Ségla famous. The vineyards benefit from a combination of sustainable practices and cutting-edge technology, ensuring the production of wines that reflect the unique characteristics of the Margaux region. The estate is also known for its rigorous selection process, ensuring that only the best fruit makes it into the final blends. Rauzan-Ségla produces a range of wines, with the flagship Grand Vin, Château Rauzan-Ségla, showcasing the depth, complexity, and aging potential for which the estate is known. In addition to the Grand Vin, the estate also produces Ségla, its second wine, which offers a more approachable version of the Rauzan-Ségla style, ideal for earlier drinking. Both wines reflect the estate’s commitment to quality, with meticulous attention paid to every aspect of production, from vine to bottle. Known for its balance, elegance, and power, Château Rauzan-Ségla is a symbol of Margaux’s winemaking heritage and continues to be one of Bordeaux’s most respected producers, with a reputation for creating wines that stand the test of time.
