Seguinot Bordet

Domaine Seguinot-Bordet stands among Chablis’s oldest family estates, with records tracing their presence in Maligny, the right-bank village just north of Chablis town, back to 1590. Today, Jean-François Bordet represents the nineteenth generation, stewarding approximately 16 hectares of mostly south-east–facing, Kimmeridgian limestone vineyards. These include Chardonnay vines over a century old, some of the oldest in the region, planted and tended with respect for nature and tradition. The estate operates at a human scale, allowing meticulous vineyard management and a sustainable farming ethos. In the cellar, traditional horizontal stainless-steel tanks are used rather than the more common vertical ones. This gentle approach encourages greater lees contact and nuanced texture, enhancing depth without overt oak influence. Seguinot-Bordet offers a clear expression of Chablis terroir, producing wines from Petit Chablis through to village and Premier Cru levels. The range includes estate bottlings as well as select acquisitions from trusted neighbors. Their Chablis are consistently praised for vibrant minerality, freshness, and character, delivering exceptional value at every tier. With centuries of family heritage, a commitment to ecological balance, and a style that balances classicism with precision, Seguinot-Bordet remains a quietly iconic choice for anyone exploring authentic Chablis. It is a domaine where lineage and nuance combine to craft wines of poise and integrity.
