Moët & Chandon Rosé Impérial is the expressive, fruit-driven counterpart to the house’s iconic Brut Impérial — a Champagne that channels Moët’s signature polish into something more playful, vibrant, and seductive. It was first released in its modern form in the 1990s, but its roots go back much further, echoing Jean-Rémy Moët’s 19th-century fascination with creating wines that blended charm, freshness, and generosity.
The blend is led by Pinot Noir, typically around 40–50%, giving colour, structure, and red-fruited depth. Meunier adds juiciness and approachability, while Chardonnay (around 10–20%) lends brightness and finesse. The rosé tint comes partly from the inclusion of still red wine from Champagne-grown Pinot Noir, a traditional technique that adds both colour and subtle tannic grip. As with all Moët wines, a significant portion of reserve wines is used to ensure balance and consistency from year to year.
In the glass, the Rosé Impérial shimmers with a soft salmon-pink hue and fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is open and generous — wild strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant, and rose petal — underpinned by notes of peach, pastry, and gentle spice. The palate follows through with ripe fruit and creamy texture, lifted by crisp acidity and a clean, refreshing finish. It’s expressive without excess — a rosé Champagne that celebrates fruit and finesse in equal measure.
While many drink it as an aperitif, Rosé Impérial also shines with food: tuna tartare, grilled salmon, roast duck, or even berry desserts pair beautifully with its bright fruit and subtle savouriness. Serve chilled (8–10 °C) in a white-wine glass to allow its aromatic layers to unfold.
Moët & Chandon Rosé Impérial captures the house’s dual spirit — craftsmanship at scale, and celebration without pretense. It’s the Champagne of lively gatherings and late afternoons, effortlessly elegant yet joyously unreserved — the unmistakable sound of cork meeting sunlight.
