The wine originates from Le Grand Clos, a historic monopole vineyard site in the village of Vertus in the heart of the cote de Blanche - 100% Chardonnay - meaning the entire vineyard is exclusively owned and controlled by Barons de Rothschild giving the wine and immediate distinctive identity. The Les Grand Clos 2019 vintage is therefore of special historical importance: it is the first expression of this monopole terroir and the first release of Le Grand Clos as a named cuvée.
