An exceptional and increasingly difficult-to-find mature Champagne from the historic House of Delamotte, founded in 1760 and closely associated with the legendary Champagne Salon. Unlike the standard vintage release, the prestigious Collection series is produced from specially selected vintages retained in the house's cellars for extended maturation on the lees, resulting in wines of exceptional depth, complexity and character. Made exclusively from Chardonnay, the 1999 is a beautifully mature expression of Blanc de Blancs, combining remarkable richness with the freshness and mineral precision for which Delamotte is celebrated. Now at a wonderful stage of maturity, it offers an incredibly complex aromatic profile of toasted brioche, hazelnuts, honey, roasted almonds and buttery pastry, complemented by ripe apricot, peach, preserved citrus and delicate floral notes. The palate is rich and elegant, with a refined mousse, beautifully integrated acidity and a long, subtly saline and mineral-driven finish. An exceptionally well-presented bottle with excellent documented provenance. Accompanied by an official Champagne Delamotte certificate confirming that the case was purchased directly from the house by The Bottled Asset Fund in May 2016 and shipped directly from Delamotte's cellars to Octavian Vaults in Corsham, UK. The bottle is presented in excellent visible condition, with a beautifully preserved label and intact gold foil, together with its wooden presentation box and provenance certificate, as pictured.
