Yellow Label is Veuve Clicquot’s signature non-vintage Champagne: a Pinot-Noir-led blend rounded by Chardonnay and Meunier, built from multiple harvests with a healthy dose of reserve wines for consistency. It’s patiently aged in the cellar beyond the legal minimum, which is why the texture feels a touch creamier than many peers at this level.
In the glass, expect bright citrus and orchard fruit with a lick of brioche, almond and a gentle toasty note. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine, steady mousse; clean, balanced, and easy to enjoy without being simple. It’s made to be reliable rather than rarefied — the kind of bottle that performs the same trick at a picnic, a bar, or a dinner table.
Serve well-chilled (8–10 °C) in white-wine stems to let the aromas open. It’s versatile with food: oysters and prawns, sushi, fried chicken, creamy pastas, or a hunk of Comté all work. While best drunk on release, a year or two in good storage will nudge the brioche and hazelnut tones forward if you like a rounder style.
A well-made, mid-range fizz with a clear house identity — polished, dependable, and happily at home in almost any setting.
