Penfolds St Henri 2006 - the alter-ego of Grange!

The St Henri is a multi-regional South Australian blend, primarily based on shiraz, although it still honours the original style. This example is the 50th commercial release of St Henri, with 11% Cabernet Sauvignon added to improve structure further. The wine was matured in seasoned 1,460L oak vats for around 15 to 18 months before bottling. Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW 95+/100 (Dec 2010) Full, rich and concentrated, its still a bit taut with very crisp acid and firm finely textured tannins, giving a long berry laced finish. Consider drinking it from 2013 to 2025+. Penfolds tech sheet has peak drinking 2014 to 2032.
