A rare and highly prestigious late-release Champagne, this 1999 Cristal Vinothèque Rosé represents one of the finest expressions of mature rosé Champagne from Louis Roederer. Part of the house’s Vinothèque programme, this cuvée has undergone exceptional extended ageing — spending many years on lees and further time after disgorgement — before release at optimal maturity. This prolonged maturation creates a Champagne of remarkable depth, texture and precision, elevating it beyond standard vintage Cristal. The 1999 vintage shows a compelling balance between richness and freshness. Aromatically, it is complex and refined, revealing layers of dried citrus peel, pomelo and white cherry, alongside notes of pastry, brioche, honey and subtle spice. The palate is vinous and silky, with a fine mousse and a chalky mineral backbone that carries through to a long, elegant finish. The rosé expression adds further dimension: red berry fruit, rose petal and orange zest a more textural, almost wine-like depth compared to the Brut This is a Champagne that sits at the intersection of luxury, rarity and maturity — equally suited for immediate enjoyment or continued cellaring.
