My Veuve Clicquot Cave Privée Rosé 1979. Purchased and owned by me since 2022 - it’s been in a temperature controlled wine fridge and 10 degrees. The Cave Privée collection represents a curated release of historic vintages disgorged after decades on the lees, ensuring incredible freshness despite their age. The Growing Season The 1979 season saw a very cold winter and spring, leading to late budbreak and severe frosts even into May. However, a hot, sunny summer allowed the vines to catch up. Harvesting began in early October, yielding a healthy crop of high quality & balanced acidity. Blend & Technical Specs Composition: 61% Pinot Noir, 33% Chardonnay, 6% Meunier.  Sourcing: A blend of 22 different historical Grands and Premiers Crus from the Montagne de Reims, the Grande Vallée de la Marne, and the Côte des Blancs.  Red Wine Addition: Includes 19% red wine sourced exclusively from Veuve Clicquot’s own vineyards in Bouzy to establish its deep rosé character.  Dosage: Brut 4GPL keeping it exceptionally crisp and structured.
