2019 Domaine Joblot Givry 1er Cru “La Servoisine” is a serious, ripe, structured Côte Chalonnaise Pinot Noir—very good now with a long decant, but better from around 2028–2033. It is one of Joblot’s flagship reds, from a south-facing, rocky clay-limestone parcel at the northern edge of Givry, adjacent to Clos du Cellier aux Moines. Wine profile Grape / appellation: 100% Pinot Noir, Givry 1er Cru. Vineyard: About 35-year-old vines on rocky clay-limestone soils, with a southern exposure. Vinification: Joblot’s approach uses whole-bunch fermentation and ageing in French oak; the resulting wine is deep-coloured, full-flavoured, powerful yet elegant, with silky tannins and a long finish. Tasting character: Intense red and black fruit—cherry, raspberry and darker berry notes—alongside spice, subtle oak, cocoa and a savoury mineral undertone. iDealwine describes it as suave, full-bodied, balanced and persistent.
