An impressive and rare 6-litre Imperial of Château Le Prieuré from the outstanding 2016 Bordeaux vintage. Château Le Prieuré is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé, produced from a small 6.24-hectare vineyard on the limestone plateau. The 2016 is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, producing a rich, elegant Right Bank Bordeaux with dark berry fruit, floral notes, minerality and fine, structured tannins. The vintage received excellent critical acclaim, including: • 98/100 – Antonio Galloni, Vinous • 94/100 – Decanter • 93/100 – James Suckling • 89–91/100 – Wine Advocate The wine has considerable ageing potential, with Millésima suggesting it can be cellared until 2050 or beyond. 6 litre Imperial bottle – equivalent to eight standard 75cl bottles. A striking large-format bottle from an excellent Bordeaux vintage, ideal for a serious collector, long-term cellaring or a special occasion. I bought this wine five years ago from a well-known dealer and it's been at London City Bond ever since.
