A superb lot of three 75cl bottles of Château Smith Haut Lafitte 2017, one of the leading estates of Pessac-Léognan and a Grand Cru Classé de Graves. The 2017 Grand Vin is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, producing a beautifully structured Bordeaux with blackcurrant, blackberry and cassis fruit alongside graphite, violet, spice and mineral notes. The vintage was very highly rated by critics: • 97+ – Wine Advocate • 97 – James Suckling • 96 – Jeb Dunnuck • 95 – Decanter • 95 – Wine Enthusiast • 95 – Wine Spectator Wine Enthusiast describes the wine as both elegant and powerful, with impressive ageing potential.
